marina locations isn’t easy, but here we share our personal favourites…
Puerto Banús
Of course this 915 berth marina is a renowned
tourist destination and therefore the most obvious choice – It enjoys an
average of 5 million visitors per year! The surrounding shopping area includes
top brand names, the bars are “A” list celebrity hangouts and the restaurants
serve a fine fusion of international delicacies.
Its most famous long-term resident is the superyacht “Shaf”, owned by Prince
Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, currently the defence minister for Saudi Arabia.
The exclusivity of Puerto
Banús marina is matched with hefty pricetags on surrounding properties. It is
extremely difficult to find anything for under €500,000. But your investment is
rewarded with year-round occupancy – rentals were barely affected during the
recession that hit other areas of Spain so badly.

This amazing development is perhaps one of the

Cabopino
Cabopino is a small harbour but it has an
innate sense of exclusivity that is now highly sought-after by Costa del Sol tourists
and homeowners. This is also one of the most stunning stretches of golden sands
with a nice selection of bars and restaurants.

just €129,000 – a fraction of the cost of Puerto Banús. The resort has 2

La Duquesa
The charming
Puerto La Duquesa is situated to of the most westerly points of the Costa del
Sol. Therefore, it offers a particular draw to those who work or frequently
travel via Gibraltar. It includes moorings for boats of up to 20m and has a
good variety of bars and restaurants.
Property
prices on this side of the Costa del Sol tend to be a lot more affordable. We
recommend Duquesa Residencial which is located within just a few minutes walk
of the marina and provides good quality 2 bedroom apartments from 98,000€.
Marina locations are not only highly sought-after by Costa del Sol
property buyers but always provide good year-round rental income.
