Recent statistics show that Spain
has the largest amount of Swedish expats outside of Scandinavia. Of course this
comes as no surprise to Blu Sun Consulting’s Estate Agent in Marbella, Pia
Karstróm, who made the move herself nearly 10 years ago and is still happily
settled in the foothills of Andalucia, just a stones-throw from the stunning
Marbella coastline.
The regular low-cost flight
connections help to sustain the influx of tourists to Marbella with Norwegian
Air Shuttle, Scandinavian Airlines, Ryanair & Veuling all competing for
landing space at the newly renovated Málaga airport. In fact, Málaga airport
(also known as Pablo Ruiz Picasso airport) has always been the third busiest
airport in the whole of Spain and now, following a €320 million update is very modern
with 3 terminals, plentiful shops and restaurants, wifi availability and a
child’s play area.
The regularity of the
flights, convenience of the airport (only 45 minutes from the centre of
Marbella) and many more infrastructure improvements that have been completed in
recent years has aided the steadiness of tourism and property investments from
economically stable countries such as Sweden. Whereas citizens from other
countries have struggled to complete on purchases since the Marbella property
crash in 2007, the Northern European buyers have taken advantage of good
opportunity.
This year saw property
prices in Marbella fall another 40% whereas property prices in Sweden continued
to rise. Many real estate agents in Marbella, report that this situation has
proved appealing for many Swedish and Scandinavian investors who have been able
to secure excellent prices for luxury properties close to the beach or
surrounded by golf.
La Cala Resort; 30% reduction Special offers including Furniture & Decoration, Family Golf Membership, Green Fee & Spa Circuits. |
An example of one of the
most attractive deals currently available in Marbella is La Cala Golf. This is
a small selection of townhouses, situated within a golf resort in an exclusive
development of 102 luxury townhouses, alongside two fairways. The views are
breathtaking as the properties are located within a natural retreat close to
the mountains and sea. Currently the developer offers a fully inclusive price
with all furnishing, golf membership and spa usage.
Real estate agents in
Marbella have seen a notable increase in the amount of properties that were
sold at the end of 2012. This is largely due to the tax incentives that were
set by the government to stimulate the local property market. It is estimated
that prices will steady and then commence an increase in the latter part of the
year.
